Patrick L. Huddie, PhD
Managing Director

Dr. Huddie serves as a Managing Director of Evergreen Capital LLC where his responsibilities include the overall operations of the firm and the firm’s technology & biotechnology practices. Dr. Huddie previously founded and managed several technology ventures and has expertise in industries including microelectronics, photonics, wireless, pharmaceuticals and medical devices. He is a managing member of the Chesapeake Emerging Opportunities Club, an early-stage investment fund based in Columbia, Maryland. His prior academic career included biophysical and pharmacological research and teaching at the National Institutes of Health, the Marine Biological Laboratory in Massachusetts and the Universities of Rhode Island, Nottingham and Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Dr. Huddie holds an honours degree in Physiology and a doctorate in Biophysics from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, and is a past member of the Biophysical Society, the Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers, and the Society for Neuroscience. He is an SBIR grant reviewer for the National Science Foundation.

Dr. Huddie has served in leadership roles at the Technology Council of Maryland, the Howard County Economic Development Authority, and the Maryland Association of Community Colleges. He is presently Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Howard Community College.
